- Do I need a licence to operate a boom lift?
- Boom-type elevating work platforms with a boom length of 11 m or more require a WP high-risk work licence. Smaller booms need demonstrated training and competency.
- Knuckle or stick boom?
- Knuckle booms reach up and over obstacles. Telescopic (stick) booms give more height and outreach in open areas.
- Can a boom lift be used on grass or soft ground?
- Rough-terrain diesel booms can, within manufacturer slope limits and ground bearing. Assess the ground and use mats where needed.
