FIELD FAQ

Boom lift hire questions

Do I need a licence to operate a boom lift?
Boom-type elevating work platforms with a boom length of 11 m or more require a WP high-risk work licence. Smaller booms need demonstrated training and competency.
Knuckle or stick boom?
Knuckle booms reach up and over obstacles. Telescopic (stick) booms give more height and outreach in open areas.
Can a boom lift be used on grass or soft ground?
Rough-terrain diesel booms can, within manufacturer slope limits and ground bearing. Assess the ground and use mats where needed.
