MISSION 01 / ACCESS

Trace the arrival route

Follow the machine from the public road to the workface.

The reconnaissance brief.

A machine can be right for the task and still be wrong for the route. This reconnaissance mission tests the full arrival path: transport origin, road restrictions, final turns, gates, overhead hazards, unloading room and the route from laydown to the workface.

Record what you can verify, label what remains uncertain, and send the evidence with the enquiry. The supplier can then assess equipment fit, mobilisation and support against a clearer operating picture.

OBSERVATION GRID

What to read on the ground.

  1. 01Narrowest gate, bend and bridge on the route
  2. 02Overhead wires, trees, awnings and low structures
  3. 03Float standing, unloading and turnaround space
  4. 04Public traffic, neighbours and permitted delivery windows

Five passes through the mission.

  1. 01

Pin the actual site entry—not only the postal address—and share it with the supplier.

  2. 02

Walk or drive the last kilometre in the direction the float will travel.

  3. 03

Photograph constraints with a scale and record verified widths and heights.

  4. 04

Mark the unloading zone, spotter position and route into the operating area.

  5. 05

Ask the supplier to confirm the proposed carrier and access assumptions in writing.
