MISSION 04 / LIFTING

Establish the lift zone

Read the load path, setup ground and public interface together.

The reconnaissance brief.

A lift zone is more than a crane footprint. This mission captures verified load information, maximum radius, setup geometry, ground conditions, rigging, exclusion areas and delivery timing before a supplier is asked to propose equipment.

Record what you can verify, label what remains uncertain, and send the evidence with the enquiry. The supplier can then assess equipment fit, mobilisation and support against a clearer operating picture.

OBSERVATION GRID

What to read on the ground.

  1. 01Verified load weight, dimensions and lifting points
  2. 02Pick point, landing point and maximum working radius
  3. 03Setup area, underground assets and ground bearing information
  4. 04Wind exposure, nearby structures and overlapping work

Five passes through the mission.

  1. 01

Confirm the load data from a reliable source and identify the heaviest case.

  2. 02

Mark pick, slew and landing positions on a scaled plan.

  3. 03

Assess access for the crane, support vehicles and delivered load.

  4. 04

Document the proposed setup surface and any engineered platform requirement.

  5. 05

Send the complete lift scenario for competent supplier review and planning.
